RUNWAY COLLECTION: 30 Busiest US Airports Screenprint
The FAA uses passenger boarding for a full calendar year to determine AIP entitlements. The term hub is used by the FAA to identify very busy commercial service airports. For instance, large hubs are those airports that each account for at least one percent of total U.S. passenger enplanements. In 2013 the 30 busiest US airports accounted for over 530 million enplanements.
The Runway Collection print illustrates the 30 busiest US airport runway patterns: ATL, BOS, BWI, CLT, DCA, DEN, DFW, DTW, EWR, FLL, HNL, IAD, IAH, JFK, LAS, LAX, LGA, MCO, MDW, MIA, MSP, ORD, PDX, PHL, PHX, SAN, SEA, SFO, SLC and TPA. The runways are drawn to the same scale, so the difference between MDW's 5,141' runway is evident next to DEN's 16,000' runway.
